With the weather getting colder, warming breakfasts are essential! With the festive season in mind and the need to use up the never ending supply of pears from the tree in my garden, I came up with this autumnal breakfast recipe. There is so much goodness in these oats, they'll get you ready for the day ahead and keep you satisfied until lunch.
Ingredients
1/2 cup oats
1 small ripe pear
Pistachios
Sesame seeds
Almond milk
Coconut oil
Maca
Cinnamon
Grate your pear - save a couple of slices for topping.
Combine your oats with a cup of water, stir in the grated pear, cinnamon and maca and cook for around 10 minutes. Stir in a teaspoon of coconut oil, and transfer it all into a bowl. The mixture will be quite stodgy so I like to pour almond milk on top. Top the oats with the extra pear, crushed pistachios and sesame seeds. Feel free to add honey/maple syrup but if your pear is ripe enough it shouldn't need it!
