Turmeric Tonic

I was feeling really sluggish a couple of mornings ago so decided to make myself a natural 'tonic' to give me a little lift – without resorting to my normal filter coffee. This combination gives a great boost in the morning and only contains 3 simple ingredients.

1. Turmeric – containing curcumin content, turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory
2. Cayenne pepper – stimulates the digestive tract and is also a natural metabolism booster
3. Freshly squeezed lemon – super high in vitamin C, aids digestion and detoxification

Simply combine 14 teaspoon of turmeric (I used ground, but add fresh if you can get your hands on it),  a sprinkle of cayenne pepper and juice of one lemon and top up with freshly boiled water.

I warn you, it's a pretty potent combination but a couple of cups of this in the morning and you'll feel so much brighter and more energised!
