Bluestone Lane Collective Cafe

I won't lie – I did a lot of extensive instagram research before going to NYC to determine the best places to eat. What can I say? I love food. Bluestone Lane Collective is somewhere that came up again and again, for the food as well as the coffee.
So, after spending the morning at the 9/11 memorial, we headed to the West Village for an Aussie style breakfast. Bluestone Lane has an all-day breakfast menu – the dream – and also serves a million different kinds of coffee. There's loads of seats outside, which makes it perfect for people watching on a sunny day.

I can never decide between sweet and savoury for breakfast – although savoury usually wins (hi eggs on toast), luckily Bluestone Lane has the perfect solution – the brekkie board. Half portions of avocado smash with half a portion of yoghurt and granola. Pretty much my ideal meal, so the rest of the menu barely got a second glance. The sourdough was incredible; topped with perfectly ripe avocado, feta and tomatoes (I added a poached egg). The addition of lemon curd in the granola bowl was interesting and so delicious, adding a real lightness, without being overly sweet. I've never really been a fan of lemon curd but I've been converted! Our iced coffees didn't disappoint and were perfect given that it was a beautiful sunny day. I actually enjoyed my meal so much, that I went back and had the exact same thing the next day. Now I just need one to open in London!
